KICKING RECORDS.
By: OLD BOY
Collingwood put up a record for the season on Saturday, by defeating St. Kilda by the comfortable margin of 117 points, the scores being 19 goals 18 behinds to 1 goal 4 behinds. The magpies side held another record, which bears equal testimony of strength of their kicking, for not satisfied with crushing poor St Kilda, they burst two footballs during the game.
It was a very uninteresting game, spoilt by the of half-forward before the match, and the incapability of St. Kilda before the progress.
In the third quarter Angus and Condon, two of the Collingwood men collided and both had to rest as the former soon resumed, but Angus was badly out about the face. The best tussles of the day were between Smith and tame on one wing and Allan and a now St. Kilda man, named Staplake, from Preston, who made a most successful first appearance.
For Collingwood Rowell, Allan, Incoll, Tulloch, Condon, M’Cormack, and Lockwood (two) played the best. On the St. Kilda side, B. Sandford, Hogan, O. Sandford, T. Robertson, Mattews, and J. Smith were the most prominent. Gibson as umpire was satisfaction to both side.
