An interesting game took place at Geelong, between the locals and Collingwood. Geelong had the best of the game all through, but the visitors did not appear to be over-exerting themselves. The veteran, Jim Sharp, reappeared with Collingwood, as they were without some of their best players. He hurt his leg, and retired in the second quarter.
Geelong’s goal-kicking was very poor, otherwise their score would have been large. The finish was exciting, as Collingwood got within a couple of points of the leaders. Final scores: – GEELONG, 8 goals 17 behinds (65 points), COLLINGWOOD, 9 goals 17 behinds (63 points).
The goal-kickers were: – Geelong – Ellysen, Hodgins, Maguire, Martini (4), and Hagger. Collingwood, Laxton (2), Mutch (2), Dobright, Lumsden (2), McHale.
