A courageous and composed defender with pace and a strong work rate. Ramsay broke into the senior side for the first time in the penultimate round of 2014. It followed several weeks of consistent football in the VFL, where he successfully blanketed some of the state league’s best small forwards. The second youngest player on an AFL list in his debut year, Ramsay’s discipline and tenacity at the contest made him an important part of the Collingwood VFL side in his early years.
Sadly, injuries at inopportune times held him back. Shin complaints curtailed his 2015 campaign and a knee reconstruction cut his 2016 short after just two rounds. He managed to feature in six of Collingwood’s first seven games in 2017, but only two thereafter, and was delisted at season’s end.
